Inpatient Social WorkerJob Summary:The Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital Social Worker provides comprehensive social work services to patients receiving psychiatric care in an inpatient hospital setting. This role involves conducting psychosocial assessments, developing treatment plans, facilitating discharge planning, and providing supportive counseling to patients and their families. The social worker collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care and continuity of treatment upon discharge.Key Responsibilities:Conduct psychosocial assessments to determine patients needs, strengths, and challenges.Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the care team.Provide therapeutic interventions, crisis intervention, and supportive counseling to patients and families.Facilitate discharge planning, including coordination of follow-up care, referrals to community resources, and arranging outpatient services.Advocate for patients rights and access to necessary services.Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.Document patient interactions, assessments, and interventions in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.Stay informed about changes in mental health policies, laws, and best practices.#INDBHQualifications:Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent state licensure required.Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a psychiatric, behavioral health, or hospital setting preferred.Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders, treatment modalities, and crisis intervention techniques.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.Knowledge of community resources, discharge planning, and case management.Experience with electronic medical records and documentation compliance.Work Environment:Fast-paced hospital setting with direct patient interaction.May involve exposure to emotionally challenging situations.Regular collaboration with healthcare professionals and external service providers.Requires flexibility, empathy, and resilience in handling complex cases.by Jobble
