Central Vermont Medical Center, a pivotal entity within the University of Vermont Health Network, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join our Laboratory Services department. This role is instrumental in offering precise and timely lab results, significantly impacting our commitment to delivering patient-centered care and enhancing community wellness. The prospective candidate will be responsible for performing complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriological tests to aid in the diagnosis, monitoring, treatment and prevention of disease. Conduct complex and standardized laboratory testing accurately. Analyze lab reports for accuracy, resolving discrepancies in test results. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and the latest industry standards and regulations. Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory levels for laboratory supplies. Stay current with advancements in field and update procedures accordingly. Assist in developing and modifying laboratory procedures and protocols to enhance efficiency and accuracy of results. Proficient in using laboratory information systems (LIS). Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Adept in various laboratory techniques and equipment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent.
