Community Healthlink (CHL) is looking for a Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk)
Child Advocate/ Residential Counselor at
our Leominster site.
Orchard Street is a
12-family residential treatment program located in Leominster that
serves women in recovery from substance use disorder and their
children. This program aims to provide a safe, supportive recovery
community that will promote a sense of empowerment, family healing,
and life skills essential for women and their children to stabilize
and lead drug free, productive lives. A team of staff provides
on-site individual, group and family therapy as well as
comprehensive children’s services and substance use disorder
treatment to promote recovery.
The Child Advocate/ Residential Counselor works with clients to assist in activities of daily living and foster a sense of safety in the program. In this role you would run
evidence-based groups, complete required paperwork,and carry a caseload of clients to develop child focused treatment plans and work with the mothers around parenting and

- Facilitation of
groups, completion of daily paperwork including daily logs, group

residents’ medication, refills, document medications and changes,
provide safe storage and also assist while attending
- Working with
residents to maintain the residence on a daily basis including
chores, grocery shopping/carrying groceries into the kitchen,
bedroom upkeep, laundry to include carrying to and from
washer/dryer, yard work, and other moderate housekeeping
- Must be able
pass required trainings including Medication Administration Program
(MAP), CPR and First Aid
views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and
contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of
professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all
employees, patients and visitors.
- Grade 6:
Residential Counselor II: Requires a Bachelor’s degree;
preferably in the field of psychology or human services
experience working with children and families
child development issues including the impact of substance use
disorders on children and family reunification
- Ability to
effectively communicate with staff and clients
- Ability to plan,
organize, and direct children's activities and programming which
adequately addresses the need of individual children within the

parenting issues and ability to provide education and support to
families within the program
US-issued drivers license and ability to provide
registered, inspected and insured automobile for work related
purposes including transporting clients in your own vehicle or a
