The Operations Team is looking to fill the role of Process Tech in their Leominster, Massachusetts facility. The Process Technician is part of the Production and Maintenance team. You are responsible for assisting in all aspects of preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and record keeping of all injection molding machines, Heisler handle machines, and related equipment. You are also responsible for assisting with mold/die changes as needed to meet customer requirements. This position will require you to be the shift supervisor during weekend shifts.

The Leominster site is one of the manufacturing sites for IPL's Large Format and Retail Packaging (LF&R) business in the United States. LF&R is a growing segment, with annual revenue of approximately $200m and significant growth potential, and is part of the Environmental, Returnable and Industrial Solutions (ERIS) Division of IPL.

Position Title: Process Technician

Location: Leominster, Massachusetts (Nights)

What you will bring to the role:

Analytical skills
Strong leadership skills
Oral and written communication skills
Basic electrical and hydraulics skills
Working knowledge of machine, conveyor, and robotic operations
Working knowledge and skills with hand and power tools
General knowledge and ability to operate a personal computer
Intermediate knowledge of injection molding processing
Mold construction and maintenance experience
Materials knowledge (plastics, metals, etc.)
Basic knowledge of 5S procedures
Husky Injection Molding Machine knowledge a plus
Experience working in a fast pace, high change environment with limited supervision: self-starter
Strong attention to detail with excellent prioritization and follow-up skills
Must be able to work under time pressure and prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner

Essential experience and skills:

Work from engineering prints, bill-of-materials (BOMs), drawings, blueprints, electrical/electric schematics, operating instructions, and written and verbal instructions
Use hand tools, small power tools, electrical hoists, powered industrial trucks, testing equipment, etc.
Carryout prescribed maintenance and repair operations on state-of-the-art injection molding machines and related equipment Diagnose common problems and determine solutions
Repair/replace various components, switches, sensors, etc.


Assemble, disassemble, and maintain molds and wire switches: install hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical components, etc.
Participate in the development of the preventative maintenance and standardized work procedures for the manufacturing business Assist with the implementation of 5S processes throughout the company
Assist with modifying existing procedures to improve efficiency
Use troubleshooting skills to improve and develop repeatable molding processes


Change wire rolls on Heisler handle machines Manage and troubleshoot work stoppages due to handle installer malfunction


Change Heat Transfer labels and troubleshooting/maintenance on the USI Heat transfer machines
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required. Notify Molding Manager of needed maintenance and repairs

The successful candidate will:

Oversees set up and operation of equipment, material use, labeling, and other related activities on respective shift
Assist with the installation of molds/dies on machine according to work order specifications as necessary Use a crane hoist to perform mold changes and maintenance of molding machines
Insert changes to molds


Responsible for molding machine set up including ancillary equipment as related to the molding process
Follow and document process parameters to ensure repeatable results
Process molding parameters to achieve quality parts and optimized cycle times
Respond to machine alarms in a timely manner
Responsible for proper handling and care of all materials, molds and tooling
Assist with the continuous operation of production equipment
